In Absentee Politically Correct Greetings

Well, my faithful readers, who I assume have been checking this page religiously every day since I last posted. Sadly, this will not be another page long Meg-epic designed to delight the senses, instead it is only a short update via the phone and my friend Kel's computer.
"But why, Meg," you ask. "Isn't it easier to go to a library or find other available computer?"
Ah, dear readers, how little you know of my love of dictation.

But on to business. I'm happily enjoying the holidays, despite the fact that my internet has been cut off by my father for no discernable reason. These things happen from time to time. Still, my days have been filled with shopping at crowded malls, defrosting my car, and snuggling on a corner of the living room couch reading "Hedda Gabler." Indeed the holidays have been fruitful.

Well, it is getting late, and Santa should be arriving soon, which means Meg should be in bed entertaining dreams of heavily sugared fruits. Also, my scribe is beginning to mutter epithets under his breath. So I fear I must go. Hopefully, my internet capabilities will be returned at a later date.
Wishing all of you a lovely holiday season,
-Meg
(via Kel)

p.s. (from the scribe) I was not muttering anything under my breath. I was enjoying it thuroughly. I would have loved to continue dictating happily but I guess she doesn't love dictation as much as she said. That was only put in for a better closer. Well, I'm getting in alot of trouble for having too long a note, so I'm going to type a bit more and wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Byebye.

It's definately the Holidays

My brother just ran up the stairs jauntily singing The Jayhawks' "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me." Oh, my little pop-loving soul feels so warm! Discovered a radio show on 88.1 that plays nice indie pop on Wednesdays from 3-4. Tune in!
Time to write a paper on despair and Hemmingway. Talk about a downer.
More from the Meg-chronicles after finals.

Well, aren't I always going back on things?

1) It's 1:00 on a Saturday nite and my blood sugar is approximately 300. That is why I am writing.
2) It was only about 2 years ago I realized the word "approximate" means "aroundabouts." For years I was convinced it meant "exactly."
3) Today I had what is known in trendy cities as "bubble tea" or "pearl tea." Basically, it is a beverage with small round balls of tapioca in it. They are fun to suck on because they are squishy. The aforementioned drink was tasty, but also made my blood sugar what it is now.
4) I went with Jaime to buy a shawl today. But we could not find one.
5) I also went to Meshuggah's in the Loop. There was a boy there that was drawing. I pretended that he was drawing me, but he was not. After a little while, he got up to have a smoke. The woman who was working also went out to have a smoke. I said, "Oh! your lungs!"
6) Also at Meshugga's, I saw Ben Surgener and Lisa, friends of The Infamous Ex. Ben was nervous because two of his ex-girlfriends were in the coffeehouse. Lisa and I were talking and all of the sudden Ben said, "I know why I remember her! [a girl at the bar] She was at this picnic and Charlie shook up this can of mountain dew and put it in the front of his pants and went up to her and put out his hand and said 'Hi! I'm Charlie!'" Lisa gave me a strange, almost accusatory look and shouted, "You dated him!"
7) I found a cool webpage
8) I went to Vintage Vinyl and the woman that works there (who had spiky blonde hair) got on the P.A. system and offered every third CD free. She sonded pretty nervous about making the annoucement. A few minutes later she offered Hip-Hop 45's for 20% off. She sounded less nervous.
9) Often, when I am reading the comics, I will see a comic that I don't think is particularly funny but is about a teacher or a dentist or a massage therapist, and I always picture a dentist or teacher or massage therapist reading the same strip over coffee and laughing and cutting it out and putting it on the fridge.
10) This morning, my blood sugar was approximately 30, and I couldn't feel my lips and there were spots in front of my eyes, and when I closed my eyes I could see one large pulsing black spot and when I opened my eyes, everything that was in the black spot was black and white and everything around it was color. So I decided to skip school.
11) I think that's about it. Enjoy the Vintage Meg.

I wish it didn't have to come to this, kids

But it has.
I am officially going on hiatus until around Christmastime.Of course, this won't be much different from what's going on now. But at least it will be official.
I'm very very sorry but I have finals and I have college applications and I just don't think I can do this for a few weeks.
But I'll be back, don't worry. I'll be back.
Love you all madly,
-Meg
